Organize Your Store with Categories
Categories are how customers find their way around your shop — sections like Handguns, Rifles, Ammunition, and Optics. Setting them up makes your store easy to browse and lets shoppers filter to what they want.
eCommerce categories vs. internal categories
CloudFFL OS has two kinds of categories, and it's worth knowing the difference:
- eCommerce categories are the storefront sections your customers see and click. These are the ones you set up here.
- Internal product categories are for your back-office accounting and inventory. Customers never see these.
Create your categories
- In the Website area, open the eCommerce categories settings.
- Add the sections that fit your shop — for example, Handguns, Long Guns, Ammunition, Optics, and Accessories.
- You can nest them if you like (for example, Ammunition → Handgun Ammo and Rifle Ammo).
Assign products to categories
- Open a product and set its eCommerce category — a Glock 19 goes under Handguns, a box of 9mm under Ammunition.
- Publish the product (if you haven't already). It now appears in that section of your shop.
Clear categories make your store easier to shop and help customers filter quickly — especially once you have a large catalog online.
